Mrs South Africa’s Top 25 finalists were announced last night at a glitzy Cansa Gala Dinner held at Emperors Palace Convention Centre. Home to the Cansa Gala Dinner for a number of years , the venue was packed to capacity with the Top 100 semifinalists, their families and friends who came out in their numbers to support their loved ones as well as people who love and follow the Mrs South Africa  movement.

CEO Joani Johnson in her speech attested to the Mrs SA Brand being a movement when she stated that, “Mrs South Africa is a female empowerment movement that has a ripple effect across South Africa”. Quoting former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Joani concurred that “there is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women”.

Judges Cindy Nell-Roberts, entrepreneur Vusi Zwane, former Miss South Africa 2005, Thuli Sitole and business woman Unaiza Moideen didn’t have an easy task selecting the top 25 finalists as all the top 100 women embodied what Mrs South Africa is about. Principal Judge, Cindy Nell-Roberts says a Mrs South Africa finalist is kind hearted, patient, driven, fun and relatable. “We’re looking for women who are going to be change makers in their communities, women who are role models; women of virtue who are beautiful in their own way”.

True to its distinguishing factor as not just a pageant but a movement for the advancement and betterment of others and in the words of Judge Vusi Zwane, “Mrs South Africa is compassionate, has leadership qualities and exudes confidence”.

Zwane reminded us that the Mrs South Africa women are executives in their own rights and in their homes. Congratulations to all the winners!

(Guests treated to great food and entertainment)
