MRS SOUTH AFRICA 2017 HLENGIWE TWALA GETS INTO BUSINESS

Mrs South Africa Hlengiwe Twala has added entrepreneurship into her many roles, as the beauty queen opened a franchise of Tammy Taylor Nails in Fourways partnering with friends Lebitso Ramphore and Tumi Nkosi.

The grand opening was attended by family, friends and fellow beauty queens. The stylish shop situated in The Gantry Lifestyle Centre is spacious and warmly decorated to give clients that feeling of tranquility.

“When I became Mrs. South Africa I wanted to empower myself, I was given a platform and I wanted to make use of this opportunity to develop myself. When I met the owners of Tammy Taylor Nails; who are sponsors of Mrs. South Africa; we connected and I knew I wanted to be part of this brand”, says Hlengiwe.

The business is a partnership between Hlengiwe, Lebitso and Tumi. “It so happened that my friend Lebitso, who also was a Mrs. South Africa finalist was also looking for something to do and we thought, why not get into business together and we added another friend of ours Tumi”.

The opening was in a form of a champagne party with guests listening to the ladies sharing their not so easy journey to get to where they are. Mrs. South Africa CEO Joani Johnson gave words of encouragement, sharing a quote that says “One woman’s success is another woman’s success as well”.
