Africa Pageants celebrates beauty with substance

Africa Pageants held a crowning ceremony of the new African Beauty Queens with Substance at ATKV Buffelspoort in the North West Province, South Africa this past Saturday. Attended by former beauty queens, lovers of pageantry, families and friends of contestants; the event was nothing short of the jubilation and glamour it’s known for.

The contestants looked their best as they competed for the coveted titles of Miss Africa (Ages 18 – 25 years: Single); Ms Africa (Ages 25 - 60 years: Single/Divorced/Widowed/ Engaged); Mrs Africa (Ages 25 - 44 years: Married) and Mrs Africa Classic (Ages 45 - 60 years: Any marital status)

Lucinda Pietersen was crowned Mrs Africa 2018, much to her surprise. “I wanted the title but wasn’t expecting it. There were a lot of remarkable women and we all worked really hard”.

As much as Lucinda says she wasn’t expecting to win, she put in a lot of hard work, preparing for the pageant. ‘I went into preparation with my heart and soul. It really required consistent dedication and commitment and I gave it my absolute best”.

Lucinda’s message to other married women who might have let themselves go because of different circumstances is that they should never ever give up on their dreams. “I was once that discouraged woman. As a woman you need to understand your worth, know that you’re beautiful and you deserve to be loved”.

Congratulations to all the winners!
