A group of South African cyclists from Gauteng will be taking part in 1160km cycle challenge to raise funds for South African learners who are struggling with their education.

Organised by Salaamedia and Salaam Foundation, the event has so far managed to raise enough funds to get 1000 pairs of school shoes, 2500 stationery packs, school uniforms, hundreds of reusable sanitary pads, school kitchen appliances and even a computer lab reaching the most deserving learners across South Africa.

“By empowering and educating our children in their early and vulnerable years of life, we can together leave a lasting and sustainable contribution to the development of South Africa”, said Salaam Foundation’s Azhar Vadi. Last year Vadi rode from Musina to Cape Town for the same cause.
