The Proteas continued with their winning streak at Supersport Park in Centurion on Friday night after securing a 19 run victory against Sri Lanka in the first Twety20 series match.

With five debutant in their squads, Jon-Jon Smuts, Lungi Ngidi, Mangaliso Mosehle, Theunis de Bruyn and Andile Phehlukwayo, the Proteas were out on 126 for 5 off 10 overs with David Miller smashing 40 runs off 18 balls. Berhadien who the captain on the night reached 31 not out off 18 balls.

The young Ngidi, with the Man of the match performance claimed two wickets, Prassana and Mendis (2/12). Imran Tahir with his experience also claimed two wickets, making a breakthrough by dismissing Dickwella who was caught on 43 from 19 balls. South Africa lead the three match series 1-0.

The second Twenty20 International will be played at the Wanderers on Sunday while the third and final game will be played in played in Cape Town on Wednesday 25 January 2017.
