Alice Lee Giannetta from Hong Kong was crowned Mrs World at Emperors Palace in Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, South Africa over the weekend.

Competing among 40 gorgeous women from all over the world, Giannetta stood out, exuding confidence and wowing the judges and audience alike with her reason why she wanted to be Mrs. World 2018.

“As Mrs. World I will continue my work with the United Nations. I am involved in many female-empowered projects, so winning this is more of a selfless achievement, because it’s all about the next person”, Giannetta said.

Mrs Belarus and Mrs Costa Rica were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Mrs South Africa Nicole Capper made it into the top six.

Speaking to SA Positive News; Gianetta shared her message to other married women and her passion for gender equality.

“A married woman can be anything she wants to be. I’m a full-time practicing attorney in international law; I’m a wife and a mother. This is to demonstrate that modern women can do it all”.

“I’m currently serving on the UN women’s committee in New York where I practice law. I help them draft a new initiative called ‘Step it up for Gender Equality by the year 2030. In our policy we ask governments around the world to join us to institute policy changes so that we can provide equal opportunity for all of our children – boys and girls”, Gianetta added.
