EC’s MC about to take the industry by storm

Aps D AKA Aphinda is about to release his much anticipated debut single, much to the excitement of his growing number of fans. With the single expected to be a success and fame imminent, the ultramodern sound that he has made his own is certain to gain interest from across the country.

Although born in the Easter Cape (home of legends), Aps D’s musical journey did not begin there. His musical tastes and interest developed much later in life at South Africa’s capital (Pretoria). It wasn’t long after becoming a resident of Pretoria and after encounters with many people who have come to seek work opportunities in the city that he realised the profound nature music has on storytelling.

It was here where music became his main goal. He began showcasing his musical talents in 2009 performing at feast of the clowns, later making a couple of appearances at Tshwane University of Technology events. He also performed at local bars and gigs, making sure that his name and music is being heard by as many people as possible. Despite the passion, commitment and love Aps D put in his music he faced quite a number of rejections from recording studios.

Having his music being rejected did not diminish the passion Aps D had for expressing his view of the world he found himself surrounded by. He founded Green chain hustle entertainment along with Thamsanqa Jona and Lwando Sobuza. Although the company is not popular, he works very hard in his music and is quickly noted for the unique style of music which finds appreciative audience among all ages.

His musical ambitions continue to grow as he is at the verge of releasing his single Paper Chase featuring Stephen. Aps is keen to point out that not only do his surroundings, his life inspire his music but everything he listens to directs his musical development in some way. He however derives some inspirations from a number of South African artists and their music. He is currently working on an album which captures his view of the times we live in.
