The Longing album launch

Gospel music sensation Michael David is no ordinary singer. His heart for worship is felt in every note he plays. He is a worshipper of note with many attesting to this every time they listen to his music.

Although he has been in the music space for three years professionally, Michael David started singing at age 12. His much anticipated second album, The Longing, which will be launched on the 21st of this month (October), follows a very successful offering, Emmanuel, an album that left his followers longing for more.

“My desire is really to just be an instrument used by the Lord in whatever He wants to do for His people through worship’, he says. “ I want to see souls won to Him through worship”.

‘The Longing’ album has songs such as ‘Wave after wave’, King of glory, He heard my cry and many more. Lebohang Kgapola, Bongani Mculo, Neo Spontaneous and Tshepiso Mofokeng will be supporting acts. The launch promises to be a musical feast that will touch people’s hearts and leave them spiritually revived.

“When God spoke to me about this upcoming album, He said I should title it ‘The Longing’ and I believe this is so because as many people encounter the music, it will cause them to have a desire, a hunger, a longing for God”, says Michael David of the album title.

“God satisfies a longing heart, those who hunger and thirst after righteousness will be filled”.

The launch takes place at Vaal University of Technology Desmond Tutu Hall, on October 21, doors open at 14h30.
