This week on the Red Couch we are joined by Mpho Charl Botha who was born and bred in Matjhabeng. Kimberley Northen Cape, now studying business management at Rosebank College. Mpho who believes that being influential is better than being famous because fame does not change anyone’s life. After having a challenging childhood experience of being bullied, He managed to gain self-confidence through modelling and is now in pursuit of changing the lives of others through both his Non-profit organizations.

Through his modelling journey, he managed to acquire titles, such as Mr Junior 2016, Mr Teen World 2016 and the ambassador of the Yale Model United Nations.

His passion for modelling found him running a pageant at the age of 13 in his home town (Mr & Mrs Matjhabeng), His pageant couldn’t grow as much as he wanted because he couldn’t register his company, which he just registered last year as soon as he turned 18, his company is known as Mpho Botha Events.

Mpho Botha Events has already started with Mr & Mrs Teen United Nations SA with a list of finalists already listed. Whilst having entries open for the now known as the United Nations pageants, which is inviting anyone and everyone who wants to make difference, applications are open now on their facebook page which is The United Nations Pageants, South Africa.

His amazing charity work and dedication towards youth empowerment has shown Mpho to be a true depiction of a noble South African hero. We caught up with this world changer and he had this to say,

“It is very humbling that my passion for modelling and empowering of others is being recognised, which really I was not expecting. Really am grateful to SAHAs for this opportunity, to everyone who believes in what I am doing and those who are taking their time and resources to vote for me, thank you, thank you, thank you.”
