We believe in providing quality education to children in the township who otherwise would not have access to such quality education

Busisiwe Nkoyana has been nominated under the “Specialised care” category for the South African Heroes Awards, which will be taking place at Uncle Tom’s hall, Orlando west, Soweto on the 27th of April 2019.

A women’s rights activist, radio personality, event coordinator and the founder of ECD centre, Keidz Educare centre, Busisiwe has proven herself to be a true South African hero. This amazing lady has dedicated her life to promoting and protecting the rights of women in South Africa. The ECD centre was established to with the aim of training young minds to develop faster and broadly. At the centre children are instilled with the skills to spell, read and perform basic sums.

These are skills which we feel will empower the children to be able to compete aggressively once they graduate to primary school. We believe in providing quality education to children in the township who otherwise would not have access to such quality education” she explained.

For the future, Busisiwe hopes to continue producing brilliant students that have the potential to be contributing members of the society and of course, great leaders. She is going to continue hitting the airwaves on radio and she also plans to develop her ECD centre into something much more; the kind of educational centre that offers extra-curricular activities, such as, swimming and music lessons in her community.

“I'm honoured to be nominated for this award. I'm glad education is recognised and that we can change the stigma that ECD practitioners are just glorified nannies”.
