All roads led to the South Africa Music Awards this past weekend, where music from all walks of life was celebrated in style in accordance with this year theme being #SAMA25 #Recognise

With not only the country in celebration of 25 years of Democracy, the SAMAs were also in celebration of 25 years since they were launched, to bring about the real feel of the theme, the organisers chose six hosts for the main night, two from each decade.

Which brought about Bob Mabena together with Melanie Bala to rep the 90s, while Khuli Chana and Lesedi FM host Twasa Seoke shook things for the 2000s.

And to bring everyone up to today's way of the game the organizers brought together Mpho Popps and actress Nomzamo Mbatha.

The night did not only start in the Superbowl, it started with the celebs showing off their fashion side of things on the red carpet, which brought about Mzansi's famous that lit up the red carpet; such as Zolani from Freshly Ground who rocked up in a very  interesting green piece, LOOTLOVE who rocked up with her statuesque number, Khuli Chana served up some real 'Fenty' fashion vibes with his belted blazer, Kelly Khumalo and Chad da Don rocked the red carpet hand-in-hand looking all stunning in their own way, Emtee walked the carpet with his son, a very cute picture that was, and the lady of the spotlight Skolopad who seemed to be in much better spirits, she rocked a sheer top that showed off one half of her chest, while the other half was covered.

The Suncity Superbowl was filled with South African Musicals from all walks and the night truly was one never to be forgotten, and one forever to #Recognise.

TKZEE, Mango Groove and the late HHP were honoured with the #SAMA25 Lifetime Achievement Awards for their contribution to the industry.

We managed to meet up with some of the #SAMA25 winners and this is what they had to say;

"Wining this award, it's crazy man, it seems like it was just the other day when we started this whole thing, and it's barely 20 years ago when we picked up all those awards you know, life is really short, I have never felt more special man. My advice to the young and upcoming is that if you are serious about what you are doing and you really believe you got something special then if you actually see then it's achievable, there's a lot of players in the game, don't think because you can sing or can dance, you got it all, no you need to have something special that you can offer, I couldn't have done what TKZEE do by myself, I need my brothers that's what makes the magic, " said zwai Bala of TKZEE.

"This award means a lot to me, I was actually talking about the design of the award saying I wish we got into the industry when it was still like this design and finally I won it today , and I dedicate this to my gang, ATM. I don't do this alone, I work with my team" said Sjava.

"This really means a lot to me and also shows that I am giving to the people out there who wants to do the most, people who are working hard, with the upcoming album in the next few weeks, I am so scared because we took the dance music side of things and everyone who I have listened to it with have been saying its intense and I am just hoping the people will like the intensity " said Lady Zamar

And just like that, the #SAMA25 weekend came to an end! 🕺Congratulations to all  winners!, To 25 years and more of the South African Music Awards from all of us here @sapositivenews
