The recently crowned the Best digital media at the Black Entertainment Awards 2019, Kapitol Afrika Radio is the heart and the essence of the city of Johannesburg, focusing mainly on art and celebrating the Afrikan culture in every way possible, aimed at promoting and celebrating the whole spectrum of Afrikan art excellence, whether in music, art, creatives, social geniuses, and  entrepreneurs.

 

The Radio station was found and established in December 2018 by Khosie Mashele, now in partnership with Khuluma ndoda founded by Patrick Shai. ( Khuluma ndoda is a non-profit organization that creates a platform for men to engage and formulate responsive interventions to reduce acts of violence against women and children as well as vulnerable people.

Run by a team of young, passionate and dedicated individuals, all in one purpose, which is to entertain and deliver tremendously distinctive content to listeners.  A platform for the youth to present their talent and passion, aimed at promoting local and Afrikan content and music, exploring different types of genres such as house, hip hop, pop, reggae, contemporary jazz, RnB & kwaito

 

“ The station is really a platform by the youth for the youth and art lovers from all walks of life, with Talent from Mzingisi Ranaka, Lebohang Mthunzi , Kopano Shai, Amogelang Maubane and many more, we are about to #TaqOver not only in the country but in the whole as we have already received such a great listenership in places such as France and we aimed at impacting more lives in and around our beautiful continent for ‘We are AfriKan! We are Art!’ “

 

The station’s programming explores the very eccentric and diversity of art and delivers it in a relevant, informative and creative manner which appeals to the young and art-going crowd. Art is a range of activities that create visuals, audio, and performance that expresses imaginative, conceptual ideas and skills intended for appreciation. Kapitol Afrika aims to celebrate and appreciate art with a lot of educational, intriguing shows that seek to promote and grow the African continent. 

 

From 1st of September, the station brings in new young and fresh faces (voices)  with a fresh new lineup of shows, all this to be found on the Kapitol Afrika website kapitolafrika.com
