The judges of the event were seeking contestants oozing with confidence to represent South Africa on the international United Nations pageant stage.

 

 

JohannesburgOn Sunday, 01 September, Mpho Botha Events, hosted the first ever Mr & Miss United Nations S.A pageant at the Joburg Theatre. The aim of the event was to find suitable candidates to represent South Africa at the official crowning of Miss United Nations in China later this year.

 “The finalists will go for interviews, photoshoots and workshops, just to prepare for the final night,” said Mpho Botha, the national director for the pageant.

The United Nations Pageant is an annual event aimed at giving all men and women the opportunity to come together in a pageant setting, regardless of their background in order to build relationships with other men and women who are working diligently to make a positive impact in their communities. This year marks the pageant’s 15th anniversary.

The event was hosted by the renowned former 7 de Laan and Generations the Legacy actor, Anelisa Phewu; a total of 46 contestants from all nine provinces of South Africa were competing for the final selection to represent the country overseas. The pageant was inclusive of all body shapes and size.
